Shaun is originally from the IT industry and completed his law degree in 2005. He then joined an employer Organisation in 2005 as a dispute resolution officer.

Shaun decided to broaden his “para-legal” career by joining a general law practice, specialising in Labour Law in 2007 where after he established Simpson Attorneys in 2009.

Shaun specialises in Labour Law related matters which includes:

  • Conducting negotiations/consultations with Unions and/or Employers on any labour matter(s)
  • The chairing of disciplinary enquiries
  • Providing Industrial Relations Training to managers and supervisors in various industries
  • Representing employers and employees in the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration, Bargaining Councils and other labour tribunals in jurisdictional applications, condonation applications, rescission applications, demarcation applications, arbitrations etc
  • Representing employers and employees in all Labour Court and Labour Appeal court matters, including urgent applications, motion proceedings and action proceedings.

Shaun’s other fields of practise are Commercial Law and transactions, General Litigation, and Magistrates Court matters.
